2022 World Conference of Women Members
The '2022 Global Women Council Members’ Conference’ was held in Dallas, USA, from April 29 to May 1. Held under the theme of 'A New Korean Peninsula Initiated by Women,' the conference was attended by a total of 80 women council members, including 74 from Americas, 2 from Asia-Pacific, 3 from Europe/ Middle East/Africa, and 1 from Korea.
The 3-day conference started on April 29 (Fri) with an orientation and a welcome event by the Dallas Chapter. Through a variety of programs, the conference shared the direction of women's activities for peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula while strengthening their ability to promote peace public diplomacy through network formation.
In a special lecture on the topic of 'Prospects for Realizing Peace on the Korean Peninsula and the Roles of the PUAC,’ secretary-general Kim Chang-soo said that the Korean Peninsula was entering an unstable and uncertain era, calling for the spread of a consensus on peace in everyday life and an approach of ‘Peace Now, Prosperity Next, and then the Unification.’
The conference then featured an active group discussion by a total of eight groups about action plans for ‘A New Korean Peninsula Initiated by Women.’ Focusing on such topics as the measures to establish a global network of women members, the dissemination of information on each region’s project progress and activities, and ideas about new peaceful unification projects, women council members produced creative plans and shared them among themselves to build a robust consensus on peaceful unification.
The conference concluded with the declaration of a resolution entitled the 'Roles and Activities of 20th Women Council Members’ in which women council members reaffirmed their commitment to promoting public diplomacy for peaceful unification worldwide more productively.
