Attendance at the 4th Team Korea Network Day Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Unity within the Korean Community and Expanding Consensus on Unification

Newly appointed Chair Hong Ji-hee expresses strong commitment to active cooperation as a member of “Team Korea” — sharing the PUAC’s role and vision through exchanges with public institutions, companies, and Korean community organizations.

The Western Southeast Asia Chapter of the PUAC (Chair Hong Ji-hee) attended the 4th Team Korea Network Day, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand on Thursday, November 27, at the Carlton Hotel Bangkok, where participants discussed cooperation measures with major institutions and organizations in Thailand.

Now in its fourth year, the event brought together approximately 75 participants, including representatives from public institutions stationed in Thailand, Korean companies operating locally, Korean community organizations, economic groups, and international organizations, and was organized to strengthen the cooperative foundation of “Team Korea,” encompassing the Korean community, Korean businesses abroad, and the public sector.

Chair Hong Ji-hee of the PUAC Western Southeast Asia Chapter attended the event and delivered her first official greeting as the newly appointed chair, introducing the vision and activity plans of the newly launched chapter.

In particular, Chair Hong explained in detail the chapter’s roles, including providing policy advice and recommendations on peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula, expanding consensus on unification across the western Southeast Asia region, and serving as a bridge for unity within the Korean community, while seeking understanding and cooperation from representatives across various sectors.

Chair Hong Ji-hee stated, “I deeply appreciate the dedication of Team Korea members who have remained steadfast over the past year amid political and economic challenges in Thailand,” and emphasized, “As a core member of Team Korea, the PUAC will continue to communicate and cooperate closely with relevant institutions to promote unity within the Korean community, strengthen Korea–Thailand cooperation, and help build a foundation for peaceful unification based on freedom and democracy.”

Meanwhile, Ambassador Park Yong-min of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, in his welcoming remarks, commended and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Korean residents and companies that have continued to achieve results despite challenging domestic and international circumstances, and participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation by exchanging experiences and ideas.

Building on its participation in this Network Day, the PUAC Western Southeast Asia Chapter plans to strengthen partnerships with public and private sectors in Thailand and to carry out various initiatives aimed at harnessing unification-related energy within the overseas Korean community.
