Americas Assembly announces winners of vlog contest for council members 

The Americas Assembly (vice-chair Roh Duk Hwan) announced the results of the "Vlog Contest for Council Members" in which local chapters in the Americas participated. Vlog is a video material that features an individual's daily life. The project was designed to present the role of council members by showing images of unification-related activities that they are practicing in their daily lives, including those at workplaces and homes.

In the contest, 22 videos were submitted from 16 regions, mostly from the youth committees of the regional chapters in the Americas. A total of 11 entries won a prize after a review by four experts of their planning ability (creativeness), objective, expressiveness and sincerity.

The grand prize went to the Chicago Chapter's "Unification Dance of a New Council Member," in which Lee Joong Won made a video clip of his daily life and feelings he had while participating in NUAC activities. He received high marks particularly for portraying him as a young and cheerful participant in unification activities who fits the image of a youth committee member. The video showed him dancing throughout.

There were two runners-up: Suh Young Ae, vice chair of the Boston Chapter, presented a video clip titled "Waving the Taegeukgi on the Tomb of the War Veterans" which promoted peace public diplomacy well. The clip showed Suh making a round of visits to tombs of Korean War veterans with non-Korean locals and put the Taegeukgi and the Stars and Stripes.

The Atlanta Chapter won the other runner-up prize for the "Twenty-four Hours of Youth Members’ Public Diplomacy during the Pandemic," which featured public diplomacy activities of the Atlanta youth members. Park Yoo Jung, assistant secretary of the Atlanta Chapter and a youth committee member, featured youth members who were striving to spread support for peace on the Korean Peninsula despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three works won the second runner-up awards and five more received special prizes. All the 22 videos, including the winning works, are available on the NUAC’s official YouTube channel.
