The 2nd Traditional Lantern Hanging for Peaceful Unification
The PUAC Busan Jin-gu Chapter (Head Lee Hyun-joo) made 250 traditional lanterns inscribed with wishes for peaceful reunification, and displayed them for four days from July 27 to July 30, starting with a lighting ceremony in Seomyeon Munhwa-ro which has a large floating population.
The lighting ceremony held at the Seomyeon Munhwa-ro Fountain at 6:30 p.m. on July 27 drew PUAC members, former chapter heads, heads and members of major social organizations, and Busan citizens.

The event started with the performance of the Busan Philsound Wind Orchestra, followed by a lantern dance for peaceful unification by the Sambang, fusion art troupe, traditional lantern lighting ceremony with guests of honor, and the chorus of “Our Wish is Unification.” They drew the attention and active response of many citizens who visited the event site in the Seomyeon Munhwa-ro.

The event, which commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Armistice Agreement, was aimed to spread consensus on unification in the local community and raise awareness of unification in the daily life. The photos of the exhibited traditional lanterns will be uploaded on social media to build consensus on unification online as well.
